I went to see Mr. Sunkaraneni after being referred to have a tonsillectomy. He is very approachable and explains everything very well. Before and after the operation, everything went very smoothly and I felt very at ease in his care. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a tonsillectomy as had no complications post op.

I saw Mr Sun after being referred by Maxillo-Facial at Royal Surrey, when one of their doctors suspected I might have cancer of the sinus. (In the event it was just infective sinusitis).
Mr Sun looked at my sinus with an endoscope and said it was full of infection. I subsequently had the operation to clear it all out at Nuffield in Royal Surrey in April as a day patient. It went very smoothly. The worst part of the whole experience was having to do 6 nasal washouts daily for 6 weeks afterwards. You get used to them and they do help but it was a struggle!
Mr Sun was always very good-humoured, approachable and kind and sorted me out brilliantly. It was reassuring to have such an experienced ENT specialist in this field to do my surgery.
Mr Sun's secretary Tanya is a lovely lady who had to sort out a very complicated part self-funding and part medical insurance payment labyrinth but we got there in the end.
I would recommend Mr Sun and his team wholeheartedly although I think my operation was probably at the more routine end of his skill set and not much of a professional challenge!

Over the course of 6 months, I had excellent care from Mr. Sunkaraneni and his Private Secretary Tanya. The overall service leading up to the operation was brilliant, with careful consideration of my injuries and how best to go forward with the SeptoRhinoplasty. I am extremely happy with the outcome of the operation, clearly Mr. Sunkaraneni is an expert in his field, and I would recommend him to anyone that has experienced breaks. I am 24, and sustained numerous fractures to my nose from rugby and various accidents. The breaks have not only been corrected very well aesthetically, but also internally; my breathing has vastly improved, and I no longer struggle with sleeping, snoring or blocked passages. It has been better than I had expected. Crucially both helped me understand the process in terms of private health care, and ensured I knew the associated costs if there were any.

Mr San Sunkaraneni is a Consultant Rhinologist/ENT surgeon who works at the Royal Surrey County Hospital Guildford, United Kingdom and provides a regional service for Surrey, London, Sussex and Hampshire. He carries out a fortnightly NHS outpatient clinic at Cranleigh Village Hospital. He also receives referrals from all over the UK.
Mr Sunkaraneni is a UK trained Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon who graduated from the University of London. During his medical school training, he spent a year undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Anatomy, where his interest in the anatomy and surgery of the head and neck region began.
He underwent his general ENT training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and in the Wessex Deanery on the south coast of England.
As a result of the recognition of his achievements, he was selected from a highly competitive international field to spend a year undergoing sub-specialty training at the renowned St Paul’s Sinus Centre, Vancouver, Canada.
During this year, he gained substantial experience in rhinology, particularly computer assisted sinus surgery (CASS) and endoscopic (keyhole) skull base surgery.
He was awarded the 2010 Travelling Prize by the Royal Society of Medicine, and in the same year was awarded the Travelling Fellowship by the British Rhinological Society.
Mr Sunkaraneni has been recognised and accredited specialist status by the specialist advisory committee in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the General Medical Council.
With research interests in nasal and sinus disease, Mr Sunkaraneni is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the University of Surrey, developing a research programme looking at the causes of sinusitis and new treatments for it. He peer reviews research papers for scientific journals and has lectured at major conferences in the UK and North America.
